July 9th-17th we went on our first trip on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. It was amazing! Matt was the trip leader so Mikey and I got to help with the planning of the trip, logistics, and most importantly, the meals! The trip turned out wonderful!
Some Highlights:

Dress up day theme of "Circus Performers/Freaks"
Ben running around in the gorilla costume, dogs running after him, faking a gorilla attack on the beach as other boaters paddled by.

Low points:
Stanley whining on the raft because:
1- He'd rather swim the rapids than raft through them
2- He's not on the lead boat
3- He'd prefer to ride on the cataraft
4- He wants to stand on the bow of the boat
5- Who knows?
I became quite fed up with him on day one, but he seemed to make some progress throughout the week. By the end of the trip, though, Mikey and I were both thinking it might be Stanley's last river trip. We'll see... Maybe he'll grow out of it and be able to relax on the boat like a good river dog!
